About Me

My name is Jason R. Abdale. I have a bachelor’s degree cum laude and a master’s degree in history, both of which I received at CUNY Queens College in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

When I graduated college, I made up my mind that I wanted to be a writer, though that’s easier said than done. In 2013, my first book Four Days in September: The Battle of Teutoburg was published by Trafford Publishing. A second edition was published by Pen & Sword Books in 2016. In 2019, Pen & Sword Books published my second history book, The Great Illyrian Revolt: Rome’s Forgotten War in the Balkans AD 6-9.

Both of my ancient Roman history books were largely well-received by both professional historians and the general public, but I wanted to tell stories as well as historical chronicles. So in 2025, I set up my own self-publishing imprint, JRA Books, whereby I could unleash my literary muse. That same year, my first novel was published, entitled Servant of a Living God
